R Serial # 172660. .38 Colt caliber double action revolver with a 6” barrel. The bore is very good, clean with good, slightly worn rifling. The revolver has seen military service. It has R.A.C. (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspectors marks on the cylinder and frame. Made in 1901. The blued metal finish on the barrel, frame and cylinder is in fair condition showing moderate to heavy wear on the barrel, along with numerous dings and scratches with edge wear and thinning along with scattered light surface rust. The plain walnut grips are in fair condition showing dings, scratches and finish wear, the right panel is a darker, grainier wood with a chip missing from the bottom edge. The lanyard ring is intact. The action works fine. Includes a Colt 1901-1903 Rock Island Arsenal marked holster. C&R.
