Serial # 38922. .44-40 WCF caliber double action revolver with a 7-1/2” barrel. The bore is very good to excellent, mostly clean with strong rifling and slight roughness in the grooves. Made in 1898. The metal finish on the barrel is a worn gray patina with scattered scratches and light dings; there is little to no original finish remaining. The metal finish on the 6 shot fluted cylinder is a worn gray patina as well with scattered spots of older cleaned rust. The cylinder is mis-matched to the frame. The metal finish on the frame is a worn gray patina with edge wear and scratches. There are traces of original finish that are turning brown. The Rampant Colt is visible on the left side of the frame at the lower rear. The checkered brown gutta percha grips are in very good to excellent condition showing light wear. The action seems to work OK. Made from 1878-1905
