Serial # S848. .50 caliber percussion fired Schuetzen style rifle with a 33-1/2” heavy octagon barrel and a unique reverse operating hammer. The box is labeled “Joseph Sanftl Schuetzen Rifle”. Paulo Bondini was a well respected Italian gunmaker who operated from 1951 until approx. 1984. This rifle was made in 1984. Double set triggers. The rifle is partially disassembled. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in fair condition showing heavy wear and thinning with scratches. The blued metal finish on the lock plate and hammer is in good condition showing edge wear and scratches. The plain walnut Schuetzen style half-stock is in very good condition showing light marks with finish wear. Protected pin front sight, the rear sight is missing. Brass butt plate, decorative side plate and trigger guard. The trigger guard and trigger group are noy installed on the rifle. The action does not work properly.
