"1861 U.S. Scott #65 3¢ Rose George Washington with Bold Grid Cancel. Attractive used example from the 1861 series in rose red with sharp profile and ornate frame. Sound condition featuring a prominent blue grid/killer cancel (adds nice postal usage interest—see scans for color, centering, and any typical aging). Popular classic for your 1861 Washington or fancy cancel collection. Scott CV modest with premiums for strong cancels. Genuine U.S. postage!" ornate frame, Washington profile, "U.S. POSTAGE" at top, "THREE CENTS" at bottom. The heavy blue grid/checkerboard cancel (fancy or killer type) is a nice postal history feature, common on these abundant stamps. Color is the standard rose red shade.
