A German ceramic character beer stein, or Charakterkrug, from the early 20th century. The stein is molded in the form of a seated, portly man, possibly a coachman, featuring polychrome hand-painted glazes and a pewter lid with a thumblift. The base is impressed with 'GESCHUTZT' and 'MADE IN GERMANY', and the piece is in the style of Thuringian porcelain manufacturers such as Ernst Bohne Sohne.

German beer stein Krug character figural porcelain ceramic pewter antique Made in Germany Geschutzt coachman

Dust Factory Auctions offers antique and vintage items that proudly display the natural signs of their age and previous use.
