This framed lithographic reproduction on paper is titled Roman Bridge, after an original watercolor by artist H. Gilbert Foote. The work depicts a detailed architectural view of the Ponte Fabricio in Rome, showing its stone arches spanning the Tiber River and leading toward the Torre Caetani and a prominent bell tower. The print features a printed signature and date in the lower left reading H. Gilbert Foote, June 1955 and printed text in the lower right identifying the subject as Il Ponte Fabricio... Roma in use since 192 B.C. It is presented in a wooden frame with a gilt inner edge and a tan mat. The verso includes an informational sheet from Hollister Incorporated regarding the history of the bridge, a printed signature from John D. Schneider, a gallery label for Peter Hess Gallery, and a supplemental newspaper clipping. Dimensions: approx. H 22.5 in x W 26.75 in (frame). Condition: The wooden frame shows minor nicks and surface abrasions, particularly at the corners and along the edges. There is light toning visible to the paper and mat. The cardboard backing on the reverse is heavily worn with significant losses, tears, and fraying at the edges. The informational sheets and newspaper clipping attached to the back show expected age-related yellowing.
