Issued in September 1942 for the German Winterhilfswerk charity campaign, this group of four pressed glass donation badges stems from the "Deutsche Baudenkmäler" architectural series. The pieces measure 1 to 1.25 inches high and feature detailed intaglio-molded landmarks highlighted with dark pigments. The first clear glass badge depicts the Holstentor gate in Lübeck, inscribed with "Holstentor Lübeck." The second badge, molded in green glass, portrays the Strasbourg Cathedral and is inscribed with "Straßburger Münster." The third badge, in blue-green glass, features St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna with the inscription "Stephansdom Wien." The final clear glass badge depicts the Hermannsdenkmal monument with the inscription "Hermannsdenkmal" along the base. Each badge has a flat reverse with a molded horizontal channel for a mounting pin. The blue-green badge shows a small chip on its upper left corner, and all units display light surface wear. PM/RC
