This pewter beaker features elaborate engraved panels depicting various historical scenes and figures in raised relief, framed by scroll and shield motifs. The beaker is constructed with straight sides and a flat base, 4.5" inches tall, it bears the maker stamp F & M N on the underside for Felsenstein and Mainzer of Nuremberg. The scenes include uniformed men, interior domestic or official settings, and locales with architectural backgrounds, possibly referencing 19th century military or civic history in Central Europe. Visible wear and patination although surface detailing remains legible. This item provides insight into period commemorative metalwork produced for social or organizational recognition.
