This clear pressed glass plate features a detailed central portrait bust of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck in military uniform, framed by laurel and oak branches. Stamped in 1895 to celebrate his 80th birthday, the piece displays his birth year of 1815 alongside the production year. The stippled border features his famous quote in bold German lettering: "Wir Deutschen fürchten Gott sonst nichts auf dieser Welt." The piece is constructed with a decorative scalloped edge and a finely textured background surface. A small chip is present on the bottom base rim, though the face of the plate remains clean. The plate measures 9.5" in diameter.
