Manufactured during World War II, this collection of twelve Winterhilfswerk (WHW – Winter Relief) street donation tokens depicts various signs of the Zodiac, including Leo, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Capricorn motifs. Constructed of molded terracotta/clay with hand-painted polychrome accents and astrological symbols, these relief pieces feature flat terracotta backs. Ten tokens retain their wire pinback hardware attached with adhesive paste, while two pieces are missing their pinbacks. Shows light age-related surface wear, minor paint loss, and small chips along the edges. Paper adhesive residue is visible on the reverses of the two pins lacking metal attachments, and the remaining metal pins display mild oxidation. Individual tokens measure between 1.0 inch and 1.25 inches in height. OT
