Indian War Model 1872 U.S. Army 52-button Fatigue Jacket or Sack Coat. This important uniform coat was very heavily worn and shows many period field repairs, some small losses and two replaced (incorrect) buttons. The uniform sack coat is unlined and was made that way due to the two interior chest pockets. The consignor notes that this jacket was purchased in Billings, Montana in 1995 and has been in a collection until now. This uniform coat has lots of frontier stories to tell, we're sure.
