A matched pair of American militia epaulettes circa 1850-60. Gilt cloth boards with gilded brass crescents with gold bullion edge decoration and fringe. Yellow silk undersides (cavalry?) A nice pre-Civil War pair. (this is the smaller pair of the two gold epaulettes)
