This is an original Austrian Fatherland Front (Vaterländische Front) Standard Membership Badge from the pre-Anschluss era of the corporate Austrian state. The badge is expertly stamped from sheet brass and presents a round form with a prominent raised central Kruckenkreuz (Crutch Cross), the official emblem of the Dollfuss regime. The central design stands out against a rustic hammered-finish background and is surrounded by a scalloped, wavy outer edge. Retaining a warm hue on the brass face with exceptionally crisp details, the badge is in excellent vintage condition. The reverse shows a deep, natural chocolate-brown patina and features the original vertical safety pin assembly with C-catch, completely unaltered. The badge measures 2.25" in diameter.
