This early-20th-century Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) officer bicorne hat (Zweispitz) features a fine black beaver fur felt shell trimmed along the edges with black moiré silk borders. The right side is fitted with a pleated fabric tri-color cockade in black, white, and red. The interior features a cream silk lining stamped with a crowned maker trademark reading TH. THÖL / KIEL / WILHELMSHAVEN (gegr. 1852). The hat is in fair-to-good antique condition overall; the plush beaver felt shell retains rich color with minor pile wear, while the black moiré silk edge binding shows fraying, thread separation, and edge splitting along the upper peak. The interior silk lining remains intact with age-related spot staining and sweatband wear. PM
