Berlin Olympics 1936 Souvenir Photo Album

This souvenir album commemorates the XI. Olympiade in Berlin, 1936, and serves as a mass-produced retrospective of the games. The tan cardstock cover features gold-embossed lettering and the Olympic rings, though it shows significant water staining and handling wear. Inside, the album contains 76 reproduced photographs and 16 photocopied postcards mounted across 23 pages. The imagery documents major ceremonial events, including the Hindenburg airship over the Brandenburg Gate, the Olympic Bell, and various street parades heavily decorated with Third Reich and Olympic iconography. A full-color reproduction of the official event poster serves as the frontispiece. This specific example was acquired empty and has been filled entirely with non-original, contemporary reproductions and photocopies rather than period silver-gelatin prints. It remains a complete visual reference of the 1936 Summer Games' pageantry despite the lack of original photographic materials. The album measures 12 x 9 inches. OT
