Late 19th to early 20th-century German industrial fire brigade helmet associated with the Vulcan shipyard. The front displays a brass starburst badge marked "Vulcan Feuerwehr Werft." Constructed with a black-lacquered leather shell, brass central comb, brass visor trim, brass side fittings, extended rear neck guard, leather chinstrap, and multi-tongue leather liner. Shows extensive age-related wear, including cracking and loss to the black finish, scratches, brass tarnish, and wear to the shell edges. The chinstrap is dry and worn. The interior liner is heavily deteriorated with hardened leather, tears, and losses. GE
