This hardbound volume, printed in the autumn of 1940, features the title "Das Land der Mitternachtssonne: Erinnerungen an Norwegen 1940," ("The Land of the Midnight Sun: Memories of Norway 1940") authored by Hans Poll and published by Haraldsson A.S., Oslo, Norway. The book measures 11" x 8" and contains black and white photographic plates documenting Norway's landscapes and cityscapes during the early German Army occupation in World War II. The period-appropriate binding, typography, and photographic printing are consistent with 1940s materials and production methods. Light scuffing and minor soiling appear on the cloth binding, and the spine exhibits some separation from the block, while internal pages show minor age-toning. OT
