This contemporary Mata Ortiz art pottery vessel features a unique, square-to-round bulbous body with a softly undulating, flared square rim. The burnished blackware finish is decorated with contrasting matte black geometric designs, including repeating triangles, hatched line panels, and abstract motifs. The base is hand-incised with the maker's signature, "Socorro Reyes." The piece is in very good display condition, showing only minor surface wear and light scuffs typical of polished earthenware.
