Bruce St. Clair (Canadian, b. 1945) Winter Thicket Artist: Bruce St. Clair (Canadian, born 1945) Title: Winter Thicket Medium: Oil on board Sight Size: 8.5 × 11.5 in. Frame Size: 13 × 16 in. Signature: Signed lower left, B. St. Clair. A refined original oil on board depicting a quiet winter scene of slender saplings and dried grasses emerging from freshly fallen snow. Executed in Bruce St. Clair's characteristic realist style, the composition transforms a simple woodland subject into a contemplative study of light, atmosphere, and the subtle colours of the Canadian winter landscape. He studied at the Ontario College of Art from 1964 to 1967 and has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than five decades.
