Signature: No visible signature Sight Size: 8 x 10 in. Frame Size: 12.5 x 14.5 in. A pleasing Canadian landscape executed in oil on board, depicting rolling farmland beneath an expansive, dramatic sky illuminated by breaking light. The expressive brushwork, restrained palette, and emphasis on atmospheric effects closely resemble the style of L.A.C. Panton, one of Ontario's respected twentieth-century landscape painters. Although no visible signature is present, the composition demonstrates many characteristics associated with Panton's work, including bold cloud formations, simplified autumnal trees, and broad, painterly application of colour.
