This is a vintage S-K Tools socket set made by The Sherman-Klove Company of Chicago, Illinois, a respected American tool maker whose diamond S-K logo dates the set to the mid 1900s. The set includes a ratchet stamped 42470 with patent number 2232477, a short extension, a long sliding bar, and about thirteen twelve point chrome sockets in a range of sizes, all housed in the original steel case. The tools appear to be half inch drive. Condition is good and honest for the age. The sockets show grime and light surface rust inside a few, the chrome is still bright, and the metal case is worn with scuffs and rust on the outside. Old S-K hand tools like these are known for good steel and are sought by mechanics and collectors, with comparable used sets selling in the range shown below. Working parts should be checked. Estimated Value: $50 to $90 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
