This lot is two large natural white sand dollars, the flat round sea urchin skeletons known for the five petal flower pattern on top. Both are big display size examples, roughly five to six inches across, and both are intact rather than broken. One is bright white and one has a slightly cream tone with light surface wear, and each shows the natural star pattern and small openings. Included is a printed Legend of the Sand Dollar card, also called the Holy Ghost Shell, that explains the Christian symbolism many people associate with these shells, which makes the pair a nice gift or coastal decor set. Large sand dollars this size commonly sell for around 8 to 15 dollars each. Natural shells are fragile and should be handled with care. Estimated Value: $15 to $30 based on comparable recent sales.
