This is a lineman pole climbing set of the type used by utility and telephone line workers. It includes a pair of steel pole climbers, also called gaffs or spikes, fitted with leather leg pads and straps, a wide padded leather body belt made by Bashlin Industries of Grove City, Pennsylvania with a metal size and rating tag, and an Estex leather saddle marked 1175-1 along with related straps and a pouch. One of the climber pads carries the Klein Tools stamp, a name that has been trusted by linemen since 1857. Everything is used and vintage with good but worn leather, some dryness and scuffing, honest patina, and working buckles and D rings. Because this is climbing safety gear, it should be fully inspected by a qualified person before any use and is offered here as used gear for a collector, display, or parts. Complete vintage climbing sets like this commonly sell in the range shown. Estimated Value: $75 to $150 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is.
