Engine: 1200cc An original 1948 FL Panhead. Matching engine numbers. Totally original with correct OEM and HD componentry. Acquired from the original US owners. This is a superb example of the first of the Panhead models. Following on from the Knucklehead the factory then redesigned the heads to make them more leakproof and slightly quieter. The design then had the nickname "Panhead" because of the rocker covers. This bike is extremely original. It has a nice original frame with the covered front crash bar. This is the last year of the Springer front end which is the correct "offset" model. On top is an original "Flanders" top clamp, #4 risers and "Flanders" handlebars. Headlight is CycleRay and spotlights and bar are also correct. Out front is an original "Monroe" shock on the forks and correct "winged" horn. The front fender has original SS strips and fender tip and original front fender light. The front wheel has original accessory fully-enclosed "garbage lid" hubcaps!! Running boards come with original extensive brackets. Dash and speedo are correct. Rear fender has accessory luggage rack, correct tombstone tail light, rear fender tip, side SS trim and rear bumper. The rear also presents a great set of original period saddlebags. Nice original toolbox and spark plug box. Tanks are correct and sport original "golf ball" tank badges. Mechanically, the motor and transmission have been maintained by Steve's Bikes over the years.
