1953 Triumph Terrier

VIN: T15 1910 Engine: 150cc Beautiful little bike. One owner for 56 years until now being made available. Matching engine and frame numbers. When Triumph's trio of designers Edward Turner, Harry Summers and Jack Wickes began work on the brand's first miniature motorcycle since the onset of World War II, they had three goals: it had to be faster than its rivals, match Triumph's lineup and inspire brand loyalty. They succeeded. The Terrier (a miniature version of the Speed Twin) was an instant hit, especially among young enthusiasts. It features a 149 cc, single-cylinder engine reaching a top speed of 65mph. The Terrier was produced from 1953-1956 and was eventually replaced with the Triumph Tiger Cub while its engine became the basis of BSA's single-cylinder models. Not since the 1930's had the company had such a model in its line up, with the brand new 149cc motorcycle being the first small capacity, single-cylinder machine to come out of any Triumph factory since before World War II; and amongst the multitude of small two-stroke, ride-to-work machines from other manufacturers, it stood out like a shining beacon in the dark.
