This appears to be an early 1900s J.D. Kestner antique bisque head doll, marked "Made in Germany" and mold number "171". The doll is commonly called a "Daisy" mold. It features a bisque porcelain head with sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth, and composition jointed body. Height is 21 inches. The doll is dressed in an elaborate Victorian-style paired ensemble including a silver-gray dress set with matching bonnet, additional black dress, undergarments, black stockings, and shoes. Condition is great overall, with minor body wear from age, intact facial paint, and functioning sleep eyes. May have had additional restorations. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit. Please expect this if you require shipping. Because of the additional time and care required to prepare the doll for safe shipment, an additional handling fee may apply. These dolls are exceptionally fragile, and while we take the greatest care in packing and securing every item, shipping always carries an inherent risk. By requesting shipping, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of damage that may occur during transit.
