This is an "American Beauty" mold child doll produced by Armand Marseille, measuring 34 inches tall. The "American Beauty" series was specifically commissioned or distributed for the American market around the 1890s. The doll features fixed glass eyes, classic facial modeling with an open mouth and molded teeth. It has a gusseted kid leather body, with porcelain/bisque lower forearms, and is jointed at the elbows, knees, and hips. The original manufacturer's or distributor's round blue body warranty stamp is visible on the upper chest. The leather body is in great condition, showing well-maintained stitching and minimal wear. The doll comes dressed in period-style blue velvet and paisley dress, undergarments, socks, and a blue ribbon in its curly wig. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit.
