Binding with only one board present, front endpaper with old armorial bookplates of Bridgewater Library. The second edition of one of the principal posthumous collections of the works of the Royalist poet and satirist John Cleveland, one of the best-known English metaphysical poets of the seventeenth century. Published two years after his death, the volume gathers his poems, speeches, letters, and other writings, together with contributions by contemporary university wits. This enlarged edition advertises numerous additions not previously printed, including Midsummer-Moon, or Lunacy-Rampant. Condition: Binding heavily worn and missing rear board, contents Good with some light foxing.
