Rare antique pressed, frosted, and cut glass Neoclassical shell shaped box. Has a silverplate finial of a cherub riding a dolphin. The same finial can be found on examples of Meriden silverplate. Probably circa 1880s. Has some wear and tarnish to the silverplate, a few small dents to the ball on top of his spear, a chip to the inner rim of the lid, a chip to the rim of the box, and and numerous small chips to the cutting on the back of the shell on the box. Measures approximately 6 3/8 inches wide x 4 3/8 inches x 6 inches tall to the top of the lid finial. We can offer packaging and shipping on this lot to a domestic USA address for $30.
