Nice antique Royal Vienna style plate. Decorated with a hand painted Neoclassical scene depicting Cupid's Farewell to Psyche. Signed by the artist C Forster. Gold gilding with gold beading along the inner rim. Has a cobalt blue border with raised gold scrollwork, white enamel lines and beading, and gold lattice/net work. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the reverse with a hand painted underglaze blue pseudo / spurious shield. Also has the title in red "Amors Abschicd Von Der Psyche" ("Cupid's Farewell to Psyche"). Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. No chips or cracks. Measures approximately 10 1/4 inches wide.
