Nice antique Japanese porcelain biscuit jar with three cabriolet style legs with gilt highlights. Decorated with large hand painted dark and light pink roses and gold leaves in a scrollwork band. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the bottom with a blue Maple leaf and Nippon Hand Painted. This mark was used between 1891 and 1911. Has some wear to the gilding, and a gilded over chip to the rim of the jar, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 5 5/8 inches wide x 7 1/8 inches tall to the top of the lid finial.
