A glittering, colorful, jewel of a small censer that has such minute workmanship. A base metal has been covered in glass enamels in a design of flowers and phoenixes. The enamels are colorful, glittering and precise. It was impossible to fully capture the glitter of the upper portion of the censer in photos, but trust us, it glimmers! The censer rests on three ruyi head bronze feet. The mouth, base and lid rim are bronze. The interior of the censer and lid underside are coated in a turquoise enamel. MEASUREMENTS 3 ½" (8.9 cm) diameter x 3" (7.6 cm) tall. Weighs 7.6 oz (195 g) CONDITION The enamels on the exterior of the body and lid are in very good condition and are still bright and shiny. The lid is missing its finial. The interior of the censer is missing some of the turquoise enamel around the edge of the well. The underside of the lid is missing a little bit of enamel on the edge and has crazing. An amazing work of art by Japanese artisans that will brighten up any surface where displayed. Period: Late 19th Century Origin: Japan Materials: Cloisonné Dimensions: 3.5"W × 3.5"D × 3"H
