A hand-blown pair of satin cased glass matchstick vases with a lovely pale blue color. Two matching vases were made of satin glass vases that were handmade and so are very similar but not identical. They have an inner layer of white glass and an outer layer of pale blue satin glass. They have tall matchstick necks with ribbing. The intensity of the color varies a bit as you rotate them. The glass has so very soft feeling and a luminescent quality. The pontil marks on the bottoms have been polished. MEASUREMENTS 10 ¼" (26.0 cm) tall x 4 ½" (11.4 cm) diameter. Weighs 2 lbs 0.4 oz (930 g) CONDITION One vase has a concussion chip and several tiny iron spots. The other vase has one concussion mark on one side and two small marks on the other. The neck of both vases have what appears to be dirt trapped in gaps between the cased layers. A pair of vases that will glow with inner light. A great addition to a glass collection. Period: Late 19th Century Origin: United States Materials: Glass Dimensions: 4.5"W × 4.5"D × 10.25"H
