A useful pair of collapsible cast bronze bookends with comedy and drama theater masks. The masks have been given a green aged looking patina. They are hinged and flattened when not in use. There are no marks or labels. They are attributed to the Dayagi Brothers of Bat-Yam, Israel in the early 1950s to early 1960s. MEASUREMENTS 4 3/8" (11.0 cm) tall x 3 ¼" (8.3 cm) wide x 4 3/8" (11.0 cm) deep (when opened). Total weight 1 lb 7.7 oz (670 g) CONDITION They have no cracks, dents, or breaks, and they stand up on their own. There are wear scratches to the front brass hinges. Although most of the patination is intact, gold from the bronze on some of the edges shows through. A great pair of bookends to be used and admired. They'd be especially appropriate to hold any plays or books about theater you might have! Period: 1960s Origin: Israel Materials: Verdigris Bronze Finish Dimensions: 3.25"W × 4.38"D × 4.38"H
