These evocative cast iron bookends capture a moment of quiet reflection, featuring horses with lowered heads and empty saddles. Finished in a warm copper patina, this set is larger and more "stout" than most similar castings, making them as functional as they are decorative. A classic piece of Americana for the serious bibliophile. The bookends have no maker's mark. MEASUREMENTS 5 ¼ in (13.3 cm) long x 2 in (5.1 cm) deep x 4 ¾ in (12.1 cm) tall. Weighs 4 lbs 5.6 oz. CONDITION There are no breaks, cracks, dents or repairs. There is considerable wear to the copper finish, although it is still very visible in most places. There is also wear to the felt on the bases. Add a touch of somber elegance to your library with this striking pair of cast iron bookends. Period: 1930s Origin: United States Materials: Cast Iron/Copper Finish Dimensions: 5.25"W × 2"D × 4.75"H
