A pair of richly colored vases with an autumn theme, an artistic sensibility and experienced, skilled workmanship. The pair of vases have wired enameled designs of Japanese maple leaves on a pigeon blood ground. The design starts on one vase and continue on to the next vase. The vases are in the tomeiyu shippo (?????) style, with wired cloisonne on transparent enamels. The base metal is stippled. The vases have silver colored metal foot rings and mouths. The foot rings of both vases are marked JAPAN SATO with a mon next to it. This is the Ando Sato era mark. MEASUREMENTS 3´ (7.6 cm) diameter x 5" (12.7 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 3.3 oz (545 g) CONDITION There are no breaks or dents. One vase has a concussion mark on the shoulder and shows on a leaf. The crazing is very fine and you need to look closely. The other vase shows no damage. There is very fine wear to the metal rims and bodies. An artistic pair of vases with a rich look that have an interesting pattern that flows from one vase to the other.
