A hand-blown, -cut, and -engraved crystal vase featuring Scandinavian design elements. The vase depicts a nude figure basking in the golden sunlight. The vase is characterized by its heavy, thick walls and a rounded mouth. It features a central square of gold-colored glass with an etched design of a sunbathing nude. Surrounding this central motif are hand-etched clear lines that frame the artwork. The vase is supported by a thick, round gold-colored base with a polished pontil visible underneath. Although the vase is unmarked, its design closely resembles those produced by Kosta Bergh and Orrefors. However, the exact craftsman remains uncertain. Additionally, the vase exhibits elements of Art Deco, Art Moderne, and Mid-century design. It possibly dates back to either the late 1930s or the 1950s. MEASUREMENTS 3 ½ in (8.9 cm) diameter x 8 ¼ in (21.0 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 13.8 oz. CONDITION The vase shows no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There are a few bubbles present in the gold glass base and the clear glass. A very tiny nick is noted on the edge of the gold-colored base. Wear is evident on the base foot from surface movement over the years, along with minor wear marks on the vase. This piece is a masterful work of glassblowing, showcasing the artist's vision and skill Period: Mid 20th Century Origin: Sweden Materials: Glass Dimensions: 3.5"W × 3.5"D × 8.25"H
