An organically shaped shallow bowl crafted from white iridescent opalescent art glass that closely resembles the inside of a clam. The bowl has an extremely freeform edge and surfaces have considerable detail. This bowl was purchased about 20 years ago in Connecticut. Akcam in Turkey produces similarly inspired glassware, also with iridescent glass; however, this dish is much more finely and delicately made. A glass artist named Donald Stuart crafted similar dishes and it is very possible that this bowl was produced by him. This is not certain though. MEASUREMENTS 15" wide x 14" tall x 3 ¼" deep. Weighs 3 lbs 8.9 oz (1605 g) CONDITION The piece has no chips or other damage. This large iridescent bowl would be perfect for serving a seafood delight or serve as a wonderful table centerpiece. Period: Late 20th Century Origin: United States Materials: Art Glass Dimensions: 15"W × 14"D × 3.25"H
