A very old Chinese shallow blue and white bowl with that deep Wanli blue cobalt. I love the design with a phoenix standing next to bamboo, and lotus. A thinly potted porcelain bowl has been covered with a bluish tinged thick glaze. A nice dark blackish cobalt has been used to decorate the piece. The shallow foot is coated in grit. The base is glazed. The glaze now feels oh so very soft from years of oxidization and touching. There are no marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 11" (27.9 cm) diameter x 2 ¼" (5.7 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 4.5 oz (865 g) CONDITION There is a chip repair to the mouth but no other chips, cracks, or breaks. The bowl rings like a bell. There is wear and scratches to the well of the bowl. There are kiln flaws, such as spotting, pin hole reserves, kiln grit on the foot and base, and an unglazed divot on the outside. A very old blue and white bowl to give richness and artistry to your home décor or collection. Period: 16th Century Origin: China Materials: Porcelain Dimensions: 11"W × 11"D × 2.25"H
