A substantial hand-painted Chinese bowl featuring a classic oatmeal crackle glaze accented by "faux bronze" detailing. The exterior depicts a dynamic, finely detailed scene of opposing warriors rendered in thick overglaze enamels. The enamels remain transparent, allowing the underlying crackle pattern to show through. The mouth rim is finished with a protective iron-wash glaze, while the base features a molded circular design in a thin, dark glaze mimicking bronze. The foot is sharply cut and unglazed, showing clear chatter or knife marks from the potting process. Unmarked. MEASUREMENTS 10 ½ in diameter x 3 ½ in tall. Weighs 2 lbs 4.8 oz. CONDITION There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. The peach in the center has a small glaze chip and some of the red glazes on the designs on the outside of the bowl show light wear. The rest of the designs and glazes still look very fresh. A visually striking and tactile piece that displays a sophisticated blend of martial artistry and traditional ceramic techniques. Period: Early 20th Century Origin: China Materials: Porcelain Dimensions: 10.5"W × 10.5"D × 3.5"H
