Lot of original National Geographic magazines, with the classic yellow-bordered covers. Overall, in good used condition. All four magazines appear complete and readable, but show storage and handling wear. Covers have rubbing, scratches, creases edge wear, and bent or curled corner areas. Spine edges show rubbing and small areas of wear. No visible major detached covers or missing pages. The bundle includes: 1. May 2008 — “China: Inside the Dragon” Special Issue — an extensive look at China, its culture, history and rapid modernization in the period leading up to the Beijing Olympics. The original issue was offered with a Forbidden City poster; I would not advertise the poster as included unless you confirm it is still inside. 2. October 2008 — “The Other Humans: Neanderthals Revealed” — focuses on Neanderthals and human origins, along with additional nature, wildlife and regional features. 3. December 2008 — “The Real King Herod: Architect of the Holy Land” — explores King Herod and his monumental building projects, with additional features including India's Western Ghats, Mars and rivers. 4. December 2009 — “Are We Alone? Searching the Heavens for Another Earth” — examines the search for Earth-like planets and extraterrestrial life, with additional science, nature and cultural articles.
