A hardcover Book Club Edition of The God Project by John Saul, published by Bantam Books. The copyright page shows ©1982 by John Saul, with cover art ©1982 by Bantam Books. The original illustrated dust jacket is present. This is an early hardcover edition, but the jacket specifically identifies it as a Book Club Edition. A psychological horror suspense novel set primarily in Eastbury, Massachusetts. Two families become connected through disturbing events involving their children, an apparently inexplicable infant death and the disappearance of a young boy. Their search for answers leads toward a sinister project involving children, medicine, experimentation and a larger conspiracy. The novel combines medical horror, psychological suspense, family tragedy and conspiracy themes. Fair to Good used condition. The hardcover itself is solid with age-related page toning and discoloration along the page edges. The text block remains attached. There is previous-owner writing with a date notation on the front endpaper. The dust jacket has significant wear and is the main condition issue with creases, scratches and surface rubbing, heavy edge and corner wear, several tears, and substantial loss at the spine ends and corners. The rear jacket also has considerable edge wear. The jacket is still substantially complete and displays well enough for a reading or collection copy. No obvious missing pages.
