A collection of five decorative cast pewter items dating from the late 20th century. The group comprises a pair of matching decorative plates by Les Potstainiers Hutois of Huy, Belgium, featuring an ornate central field of cast scrollwork and filigree surrounded by a scalloped, moulded rim. The undersides of the plates retain red paper labels stating that the objects were handmade and are guaranteed to be 94 per cent pure tin and lead-free. One plate also bears a sticker with the number 2515 and a square logo with the letter H. The collection includes a round, footed lidded bowl of Italian manufacture, resting on three scrolling feet. The domed lid is topped with a cast finial in the form of a cluster of grapes and vine leaves, and the base is stamped with a sunburst motif and the words Peltro Puro. Also present is a decorative hummingbird votive holder by Seagull Pewter, Nova Scotia, Canada, dated 1992. The cast pewter frame depicts flowers, leaves, and a hummingbird in flight, and contains a clear cylindrical glass insert. The collection is completed by a slender cylindrical vase or candlestick with a slightly flared rim, featuring a clear faceted glass knop above a stepped circular pewter base. Dimensions measured against a ruler: Vase height approx. 17.8 cm (note: measured in inches as 7 inches) Glass insert height approx. 9.5 cm (note: measured in inches as 3.75 inches). Condition: The items are in good overall condition, displaying a natural aged grey patina throughout. The plates exhibit light surface scratches consistent with age and use. The paper labels on the reverse of the plates show signs of wear and are partially torn or detached.
