Title: Multicolored Drip Composition on a Pale Ground Technique: Oil on paper Measures: 14 x 20 inches (approximately 35.6 x 50.8 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in good overall condition. The work displays vivid colors and dense, raised layers of dripped paint with a glossy finish. Minor surface wear, light toning and mottling of the pale ground, and age-related imperfections may be present. Presented in a bronze-toned metal frame with a stepped profile. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: From a private European collection; reportedly retained in private hands before entering the present consignment. Information concerning earlier ownership was not supplied. Visual Description: An energetic Abstract Expressionist-inspired composition built from a dense web of dripped and poured paint spread across a pale, mottled cream ground. Looping skeins of red, blue, teal, black, white, olive, and orange interlace in every direction, gathering into heavier pools and splashes throughout. The tangle fills most of the sheet, thinning toward the edges where scattered drops and trailing lines dissolve into the open ground. The raised, glossy paint gives the surface a tactile, layered quality. Rendered in the Abstract Expressionist style of Jackson Pollock, the work emphasizes gestural freedom, all-over composition, and the energy of spontaneous paint application, recalling the artist’s celebrated drip paintings. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
