1971 United States Eisenhower dollar, held in a clear plastic protective capsule as shown. The obverse shows the left-facing bust of Dwight D. Eisenhower with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 1971. The reverse shows an eagle landing on the moon with the Earth visible above, and the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. This is the original 1971 design in which the reverse was struck from a high-relief die; two reverse dies were used that year and this is the earlier type, identifiable by the flat Earth and the three straight craters on the moon's surface. The coin is silver-colored copper-nickel, not silver. The piece shows light surface hairlines and marks on both sides from handling. Mint mark, if any, is not legible in the photos and is not stated.
