A pair of vintage black-painted sheet metal utilitarian vessels, comprising a watering can and a specialised strainer bucket. The watering can is constructed with a horizontally corrugated cylindrical body, a long tapered spout terminating in a fixed circular rose diffuser, and an overhead iron wire bail handle alongside a fixed rear sheet metal handle. The top is partially enclosed by a fixed half-moon shaped cover. The second vessel is a strainer bucket or scuttle, designed with a sloped, hooded top inset with a circular fine wire mesh filter screen, typically used for straining liquids such as oil or kerosene. It is equipped with an overhead wire bail handle featuring a turned wooden grip. Both items are of soldered construction, consistent with manufacturing techniques from the late 19th to mid-20th century. Dimensions measured from a visible tape measure: Watering can height: approx. 9.5 inches (24 cm) Watering can diameter: approx. 8.75 inches (22 cm) Strainer bucket height: approx. 9.75 inches (25 cm). Condition: Both vessels are in a well-used vintage condition. There is widespread paint loss and surface scratching across the exterior surfaces. Significant oxidation and surface rust are present, particularly on the interior bases and around the rims. The sheet metal shows minor denting throughout. The wooden handle on the bucket exhibits weathering and grain separation. Residual sawdust is present on the upper surfaces. The vessels are untested for water-tightness.
