Ceramic Tile Calendar Jones McDuffee. This scarce Victorian ceramic calendar tile features a beautifully detailed transfer-printed and hand-tinted architectural view of Trinity Church in Boston, Massachusetts, commissioned as an annual advertising souvenir by the historic Boston pottery merchants Jones, McDuffee & Stratton. Produced by the renowned English pottery manufacturer Wedgwood, this 1896 edition features a vivid polychrome rendering of H.H. Richardson’s iconic Romanesque Revival landmark on the front, while the reverse displays a full calendar for the year 1896 alongside the importer's signature mark, making it an exceptionally desirable cross-collectible for Wedgwood pottery, Boston history, and antique advertising tile enthusiasts. Manufactured in Etruria, England by Wedgwood for Jones, McDuffee & Stratton (Boston, MA), copyrighted 1895 (for the 1896 year), transfer-printed creamware/earthenware ceramic with a pre-drilled hanging hole, marked "WEDGWOOD" and "COPYRIGHT 1895 J.M'D & S." on the front upper corners and "Jones McDuffee & Stratton Pottery Merchants, Boston, U.S.A." on the reverse, measures approximately 3.5 x 4.75 inches. Displays expected signs of age including faint edge chipping and minor glaze wear along the perimeter, light surface scuffing, subtle crazing consistent with 19th-century earthenware, and minor discoloration/spotting on the reverse, though the central architectural illustration remains crisp and vibrant; no hairline cracks or major restorations observed. See photos for close-up details.
