AUDUBON, JOHN JAMES. Belted Kingfisher Alcedo Alcyon. Philadelphia: J.T. Bowen, 1840-44. Original hand-colored lithograph, 6 7/8" x 10 5/8" (sheet), matted and framed to 11" x 14 1/2". Imprint in lower margin printed in italics. Provenance: Schramm Galleries (Ft. Lauderdale, purchased 1962). Plate 255 from the first octavo edition of Audubon's Birds of America. Condition Faint even toning, not examined out of frame.
