AUDUBON, JOHN JAMES. Carolina Parrot or Parrakeet. Philadelphia: J.T. Bowen, 1840-44. Original hand-colored lithograph, 6 7/8" x 10 5/8" (sheet), matted and framed to 10" x 13". Imprint in lower margin printed in italics. Provenance: Schramm Galleries (Ft. Lauderdale, purchased 1962). Plate 278 from thefirst octavo edition of Audubon's Birds of America. Condition Faint even toning, a few pale spots, sew holes in left margin, examined out of frame.
