Leaf of Additions/Corrections at end of volume 2. Full modern brown calf, morocco spine labels. Provenance: James A Stewart (19th-century ownership signature to title vol 2). First edition of Webster's landmark dictionary, "which almost at once became, and has remained, the standard English dictionary in the United States" (Printing and the Mind of Man 291). Condition: Volume 1 dampstained throughout, occasional browning and light foxing, spines sunned.
